The Retreat: Pamper Experience
A great way to spend a rainy Wednesday in November. My lovely husband for my birthday gave me a voucher for an Ultimate Beauty Experience in the Retreat. The only problem was where would I find the time - so I decided I would take a whole day off and indulge myself. Hence the rainy Wednesday in November when I arrived in the Beauty Hall to be met by the lovely Ellen.
My day began at 10 am with a manicure in the Nail Spa and what a choice of nail colours! Very difficult to decide on which one - especially with both OPI and Leighton Denny to choose from.
We then moved to the calm and peaceful atmosphere of the Retreat for a relaxing pedicure. This is possibly one of Jarrolds least known about places and if you've not been there and seen the suite of beauty rooms or tried the range of treatments from pedicures or spray tan to aromatherapy massage or reflexology, then you really have missed one of the best experiences ever. It is so quiet and tucked away that you really cannot comprehend that you are only a few steps from the general hustle and bustle of a busy department store. After the pedicure and with bright shiny toes in flip flops I decided to take a break and went for a light but delicious lunch in Cafe Benjamin on the fashion floor.
I returned to The Retreat and Ellen to the most relaxing part of my 'experience'. Firstly a full body massage using a mix of products from Ren and Caudalie - both brands to be found in the Skin Spa and I'd highly recommend giving both a try. A delicious facial followed and then a Indian Head massage to complete my treatments. All I can say is that I really didn't want to leave - Ellen had been wonderful all day and I left feeling calm and relaxed and thoroughly pampered.
The combination of treatments took around 4.5 hours but of course you can have any of them individually or indeed any of the other treatments offered - click here and find out more.
