Join us for an evening of discussion and reflection on female desire, sexuality and power as we welcome Emma Cline, best-selling author of The Girls and Emma Forrest, novelist and screenwriter to Jarrold. The event will include discussions on the author's books including the themes and motivation in their works as well as open conversations about female desire and experiences of women. There will be the opportunity to purchase books at the event.
About Emma Cline:
Emma Cline is from California. Her first novel, The Girls, was a Sunday Times bestseller and the highest selling debut novel of 2016. It has been published in over 40 countries worldwide. Following global acclaim including Plimpton Prize for Fiction and publication of her short stories, 2023 sees the release of her hotly anticipated second novel, The Guest.
About Emma Forrest:
Born in London, Emma Forrest began her writing career as a teenage columnist on the Sunday Times, going on to have columns in The Guardian, the Independent and Elle. By thirty, she had published three novels and exited journalism to work in Hollywood as a screenwriter. Her 2011 memoir, Your Voice In My Head is beloved by Nick Hornby and Dolly Alderton. Her most recent novel, Royals, was selected to be a Grazia Book of the Year.
