eCommerce Project Lead - Furniture

This exciting and challenging role within our eCommerce Content Team involves developing the online furniture department and being the lead on this exciting growth opportunity which involves being at the start of the journey of building a new furniture website. You will need to provide an excellent user experience, and optimising the site for search engines. This is a rare chance to join our eCommerce team where you will have an excellent opportunity develop a wide range of eCommerce skills. This role has a focus on furniture as we are looking to rapidly grow our online furniture department and alongside our core E-commerce cms we have a furniture platform, Swan FRS which you will also be working on. Swan FRS is managed through spreadsheets so you will require a strong understanding of Excel.
Main Responsibilities:
- Our online catalogue: Creation and maintenance of products on our online catalogue, including:
- Writing product descriptions to represent brands and products in an exciting and search engine optimised way.
- Sourcing and optimising product images.
- Ensuring products are correctly taxonomised and presented on the website.
- Enriching product pages to ensure the best possible customer experience.
- Our online department pages: You will have responsibility for certain departments on the website, and will have the drive to continually refine and merchandise these to provide both our customers and stakeholders with the best experience and sales performance possible.
- A focus on furniture: You will work with the furniture team to create new supplier spreadsheets to create and amend ranges, prices and to set up new products through Swan FRS.
- Search Engine Optimisation: You will be responsible for optimising site content for improved search engine results. This will involve keyword and sales trend research, content writing and reporting.
- E-commerce administration and reporting: You will be responsible for reporting KPIs to the Website Manager and other stakeholders, as well as ad-hoc report creation when necessary.
- Order Fulfilment: You may need to As part of the Jarrold family, you will sometimes need to help in other departments, especially with order processing during peak trading times such as Christmas.
We are looking for someone who has the following qualities:
- Good organisation skills. You will need to schedule photo shoots, work with the furniture team to prioritise the range build and work within the e-commerce team.
- You have excellent written skills and attention to detail.
- You have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and are comfortable manipulating data for research, report writing or content processing tasks.
- You are looking for ways to improve and grow the furniture proposition online and provide the best service for our customers.
- You are organised, with the drive to work under your own initiative, within the boundaries of your responsibilities and to help seek and implement continual improvements in a fast-paced eCommerce environment.
- Experience of Photography, Google Analytics, SEO, CRO and Adobe Photoshop are desirable.
