Richard Bainbridge - Top picks from Jarrolds

For the chef and restaurateur whose world revolves around flavour, food and family, choosing his pick of Jarrolds was clearly an extension of his passion. His journey through Jarrolds started in the Lower Ground Floor where a Le Creuset mug, a past gift from his children, caught his eye. In the Food Hall, he gravitated towards some of his favourite local ingredients, hand-picked treats for the people who matter most, and, of course, his own rang to round it all off, the only fitting choice: a bottle of champagne, his drink of celebration, perfect for raising a glass to good food

Next stop was the beauty hall where he found the scents of choice for both himself and his wife, Katja before making a stop in homewares which led to a fig-scented candle and admiring the selection available at Piglet in Bed. Richard admired tableware from across Nkuku and Denby, as well as being delighted by the colourways on offer of the London Brick Vases.

In the book department, he lingered—unsurprising for someone with over 1,000 cookbooks—sharing stories of books and advising on essential books to have in your culinary library. The last stop of the tour was to the toys department where we talked about important children’s books for his two girls and his families love of board games including the essential travel companion which is Uno.
