Made from lightweight sinamay straw, this classic design is all about understated elegance. With clean lines, neutral colours and a simple bow, this beautiful hat is set to become an investment piece and a true wardrobe staple. Named after F. Scott Fitzgeralds debut novel from 1920, This Side of Paradise will take you effortlessly from smart occasion to smart occasion.
So versatile, the hat may be worn with the brim perpendicular to the ground or, alternatively, with it tipped at an angle to the left- or right-side of the head, depending on the preference of the wearer. The sweeping cartwheel-style brim creates a lovely, flattering, backdrop against which the face is framed. Why not partner this hat with formal tailoring or wear it to off-set - and complement - a busily-patterned frock?
As with all Goodrum & Merryweather hats, This Side of Paradise is crafted and stitched the traditional way, entirely by hand, in the heart of Norwich. The crown of the hat is 21 inches (53 cm) in circumference but the hat is intended to perch forward of the head rather than be fitted precisely. It is secured to the head with a stretchy hat elastic (in black) that sits under the hairline, at the nape of the neck, for an invisible and comfortable fit. Unlined.
