This lightweight, pretty, perching hat is a Summery celebration; ideal for garden parties, celebratory drinks al fresco or a visit to Ladies Day. Made from sinamay straw that is moulded into a structured, side-sitting, beret shape, the hat has a basket-weave top layer that references picnic blankets and gingham checks.
The design is elegant and distinctive and is topped with a one-of-a-kind interlocking spray of leaves. Each leaf has been rolled, painstakingly, by hand, giving a charming sculptural finish. The tonal colour palette weaves mink, coral and cerise sinamay with a scattering of scarlet stamen and a hint of metallic gold. Team with a midi dress in cool white, classic navy or sunny yellow for a winning combination.
This hat is moulded and stitched entirely by hand at the Goodrum & Merryweather studio in the heart of Norwich. Crafted the traditional way, using heritage skills and millinery techniques, the beret shape is considered to be among the most flattering and easy to wear of styles. It is secured to the head with a stretchy hat elastic (in black) that sits under the hairline for an invisible and comfortable fit. Unlined. One size.
