"Diary of an unsmug Married” is Polly James’ debut novel and she entertained family, friends and other well known authors at her Book Launch on February 13.

The story is based upon her “Mid-Wife Crisis” blog, which was shortlisted for the Orwell Prize in 2011. It tells the story of Molly Bennett, MP’s assistant and calamitous wife and mother, who may be having a “mid-wife crisis” of her own.

Polly James was born in Wales but currently lives in East Anglia, where she works as a writer and editor. Her debut novel is now available in the Book Department on the Lower Ground Floor.
