Rogue Male- Geoffrey Household
RRP £8.99
Part of the Jarrold 'Buy One Get One Half Price' offer
Just reprinted, this is a completely terrific read, a perfect example of its kind and one we'd recommend unhesitatingly to lovers of classic thrillers of the 39 Steps kind - though this book is arguably even better. Originally published in 1939, in a country that may or may not be Germany some time before World War II, the narrator has gone there to assassinate a leader who may or may not be Hitler. Levels of Life - Julian Barnes
RRP £10.99
Julian Barnes’ semi -autobiographical book about the death of his wife Pat Kavanagh in 2008 is both painfully honest and typically artful. 'You put together two things that have not been put together before. And the world is changed...' It is a book about ballooning, photography, love and grief; about putting two things, and two people, together, and about tearing them apart.
