Placed in rainy or humid environments, acacia is likely to expand; if exposed to sunlight or dryair, it will contract. Host environments can cause minor cracks, chips, peels, or splinters in your furniture.This process is called warping, which is natural and unavoidable. However, regularly cleaning your furniturewith a soft, moistened cloth can help to maintain the wood and increase its life for years.

Maintenance of Acacia Oak Oil Wash Finishing:Small scratches may blend into the existing finish of your furniture and add to its character. If a deep scratchdevelops in the surface of your furniture, obtain a wood repair stain, marker or stencil in a colour that bestmatches the acacia. Follow the manufacturers instructions to carefully match the colour of the exposed woodin the scratch to your furnitures overall finish, to reduce its appearance. Do not sand down your furniture;a three-step finish has been applied by professionals during its production. Sanding your furniture willremove its top layers and expose the lighter coloured acacia underneath, damaging it permanently. If youwould like to restore the finish of an entire piece, please seek the help of a professional restorer.
