We now have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Housewares Buyer to join our team at Jarrolds.
This is a temporary contract for a period of 6 months with a view to becoming permanent for the right person.
The successful candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience in a buying role and have proven success in demonstrating strong negotiation skills. Excellent administration and organisational skills are essential as is the need to be comfortable using reporting systems and Microsoft Excel.
Responsibilities Include:
- Maintain an excellent product range within our housewares department.
- Source, select and price product ranges appropriate for our target customer profile.
- Effectively manage stock levels and budgets while ensuring a maximum return through an effective buying process.
- Responsible for managing profitability and working within agreed budgets.
- Develop strong relationships with your suppliers and the retail team.
- Manage effective promotional activity and seasonal events.
- Attend buying shows.
There will be a requirement to travel to shows and other branches and therefore a clean driving licence is essential. You should also be prepared to work weekends on a rota basis, and attend evening events in store when required.
