Contract Formation

Order acceptance and the completion of the contract between you and us will take place on the dispatch to you of the products ordered (unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order).

Jarrolds Marketplace Orders

This website also offers the ‘Jarrolds Marketplace’, an online marketplace of small, independent, local sellers offering various goods and/or services for sale. We refer to such sellers as our ‘Store Folk Members’.

If you place an order for goods or services with a Store Folk Member via the Jarrolds Marketplace, your contract for the sale of the goods or services (if your order is accepted) will be with the Store Folk Member (and not Jarrold & Sons Limited), and will be on and subject to these terms and conditions (they will be available for you to read at Checkout as well). By proceeding through the Checkout to payment, you are accepting these terms and conditions. Please review these terms and conditions for further information on the supply of products to you, delivery of goods and returns. You should also review any specific terms and goods/services descriptions noted on the actual webpage for the goods or services that you are purchasing for further information on such goods or services before placing your order.

For orders placed via the Jarrolds Marketplace, we only act as the Store Folk Member’s agent for the purpose of facilitating the sale of the goods or services and accepting, refunding and/or otherwise processing payment related to the sale of the product via the Jarrolds Marketplace. As such, you authorise us to process payment for the benefit of the Store Folk Member. Our acceptance of your order will take place when we email you to accept it, at which point a contract will come into existence between you and the Store Folk Member.

If you have any questions or complaints about purchase of goods or services from a Store Folk Member, please get in touch with our Internet Orders team who will aim to assist you with any issues you may have. However, please note that as we only act as an agent for the Store Folk Member, we are not responsible for any failure on the part of the Store Folk Member to comply with its terms and conditions and may be unable to resolve the issue to your satisfaction. If we are unable to resolve the issue to your satisfaction, we will put you in direct contact with the Store Folk Member so that they can try to resolve the issue.

We require all Store Folk Members to comply with a set of standards for the Jarrod Marketplace. This includes complying with UK consumer laws on product safety and quality. However, since we are only an agent of Store Folk Members, we are not under a legal duty to guarantee that the supply such goods and services will comply with such laws. Nothing in these terms will affect your legal rights against the Store Folk Member. If you have any doubts as to your legal rights please visit the Citizens Advice website www.adviceguide.org.uk or call 03454 04 05 06.

For orders placed via the Jarrolds Marketplace, we will pass your personal data (your name, invoice address, delivery address, email address, and telephone number but not your financial details) to the Store Folk Member so that they can fulfil your order. Please read our Privacy and Data Protection Policy as well as the relevant Store Folk Member's privacy notice for further details on how it processes and manages your personal data.
